    Hey super3boy

First thanks for your awesome TUTs. I’ve visited several 3D packages over the past 6-7 years including Blender a few times and just couldn’t get it, I think I got ADD or something. The way you explain it just seemed to stick and connect with me. I tried following other beginner TUTs on youtube, etc. but just couldn’t follow them, these guys were just talking too fast or just sounded dry and boring like a thick boring instructional manual. Your lessons are very simple, stripped down and easy to follow. All the other beginner TUTs spend the first few TUTs going through the interface and all of the menus and sub-menus, blah, blah, blah boring and overwhelming.

Just wanted to tell you this, cuz your teaching style works keep it up and don’t become boring and text book like. Your style works and stands out from all the other lessons out there and works for people like me who maybe have a hard time learning. Also I do find blender’s interface overwhelming but decided to stick with it because it’s free, it’s open source and the community is huge and seems very supportive.

    Anyways here’s my questions below.

Why did you decide to teach your TUTs? Did you think you could add a different approach to your TUTs?

    How old are you?

Why did you choose to learn Blender? What do you use Blender for?

I have some more question but I’ll add them later, when I remember. Forgot them all after writing all that praise first.

    Hi super-duper3boy!

First of all – I don’t want to repeat what mastercontrolprogram said. You rock. You should earn some money with this – at least after all of us have been tutored by you ;-P ! You can talk, you talk right and slowly, you know it’s VERTEX, not “Vertece” :P and it’s cool, no matter if you sound like a kid and probably are one (I’m old and a Blender n00b), I spent 40 bucks on a tut DVD that’s 14hrs but GAY!

    Some tips for you:
stay away from the mic a little further
or get/build a POP-FILTER (Metal cloth hanger and some pantyhose makes a great and cheap filter!)
or use a multiband compressor on the audio tracks to filter the pops out and get an equal level

Just some Audio Geek stuff ;)

Rock&Roll and release that DVD WE WANT IT!
And your age. We want your age so we can really feel like LOSERS :)

    hey super3boy

    just a few questions.

by your forum profile i assume your 17 so no point in asking age lol. im 18 myself

where did you learn to use blender as you do?

do you still plan to continue the tutorial series? like the game tutorial series?

how are along is the dvd

do you plan to have it professionally produced or are you going to burn your own dvd’s?

do you plan to allow for digital download of the dvd?

    misc comments:

i have severe adhd so its extremely rare that i can find tutorials or anything that can actually hold my attention long enough to actually learn anything from it. pretty much everything i know about photoshop, the gimp, zbrush, blender, c++, ect, ect(i go through a lot of hobbies) i learned through trial and error.

but theres an exception with your tutorials. idk what it is but your actually able to hold my attention in your tutorials. you do your tutorials exceptionally well and i thank you for the time and effort you put into them.

get back to me if you can :)

    pce

p.s. although i doubt you have any you are free to ask any questions to me as well. usually people feel better about answering personal questions i they can ask a few as well.

    Hi there!

I think that the first two said almost everything.Soo all be short.

    Where do you come from?
    From Great Britan, America …?

I mean you talk perfect English. Is that because you are from Britan or are you american and your just talking like this because you whant that people understand you betther?

I think you should get a five star for that.

By the way, how can I recive that dvd of yours?
Are you sending mail to far away countrys like Slovenia?
And if you do, how much would it cost me then?

  5. pat Says:

so yea, I also want to know what you use blender for.

I want to know what you plan on doing as a career, you have lots of things on you site from web design, to coding, to blender which one do you want to do the most?

Have you tried other 3D programs? I’ve been using Maya since version 6, but I also want to learn a bit about blender.

and the DVD seems to be taking longer than expected huh?

    what is nystic?

  6. pat Says:

one more thing. You should try editing your videos in post. So like now I’m watching your bullet time video and you repeat an action and say “bare with me here” why not just stop the vid or cut that out in post, then in the video say you skipped a head and did it all just like the first.

  7. raighne Says:

Hi! I wanted to thank you for those excellent tutorials. For my questions:

1.) How long have you been using Blender? What steered you towards it versus other 3d packages?

2.) How much will the DVD cost?

3.) Who would win in a fight, the animatronic band at Chuckee Cheez or the animatronic dino’s at the Creationist Museum?

    Thanks much!

  8. blenderboy Says:

Yes THOSe tuts are cool!!! thank you for them! they helped me allot!!

  9. blenderboy Says:

i can start making tuts if i wanted to but i cant because i have linux!

  10. Dom3 Says:

I have become something of a fan. A very elderly fan. I am curious about your interest in 3D and programming in general and any thoughts you might have as to where it is all leading. I have been a professional artist all my life (a very long life) and see something rather fantastic and mysterious on the distant horizon ~ a hybrid ~ something of a cross between game, movie, and fine art. Something sleek where the vast world of “Oblivion” is wed to both the sentiment of “WALL-E” and the purposeful stratagems of Enochian Chess. Any thoughts?

I think your videos are wonderful as a learning aid for those of youthful mind of any age. I feel I have grown in knowledge right along with your voice changing. I think that aspect of the videos is one of their greatest assets.

  11. Psycho3D Says:

Well not to be a broken record but DANG TOUGHS TUTS ARE GREAT!

    For my questions…

1)How did you get into 3d models.

2)Are you gonna make a tutorial on sculpting?

3)How old were you when you first started blender?

4)How much fan mail do you get weekly?

Thanx again for sharing your knowledge and making blender easy for me!

  13. Audir232 Says:

    Hey Super3boy!

I have one question needed answering. I have always wanted to ask it and I think I speak for alot of people.

I noticed that you made around 25 tutorials. There have been none since then.

Now you are quite a/the most popular blender tut maker, will you start making more tuts again?

I have some stuff on the forums that you havn’t yet done, perhaps you can check them out and then make a tutorial based on one of them if you like. But I defonately want the tut shown on your news thing at the beginning and my name (Audir232) so people can check them out. Thinking of that, I mite make one now. Anyway, great to talk, I need to go make somthing and deliberately not like it for an excuse to explode it on blender! ;)

    Bye!

  14. daveindezmenez Says:

I’ve learned a lot from the Blender video tutorials you’ve done so far.

    My Question:

Would there be any possibility of some older video tutorials being updated to reflect the interface changes in the newer versions of Blender?

I had some difficulty with some earlier ones because the program didn’t work the same anymore.
